School food-service providers still believe their lunches are the best deal in town for families, but rising food and fuel costs mean it's becoming harder for districts to provide low-cost meals to students.
Across the east metro area and the state, schools are raising their lunch prices this fall, or crossing their fingers and watching their bottom lines, hoping that increases they've already made will be enough.
