MORE than 400 jobs are on their way to Wearside, to breathe new life into a forgotten electronics plant.
Durham-based Tanfield Group plc, which manufactures electric vehicles, will take over the former LG Electronics site in Washington.
The 250,000sq ft factory building, near the Washington services on the A1, closed its doors in May 2004 when the Korean company moved its production to China.
After snapping up Irish aerial platform maker UpRight two months ago, Tanfield will take over at LG.
