THE North East's most prestigious hotel is set to more than double in size.
Seaham Hall Hotel and Serenity Spa, the only five-star hotel in the region, aims to add at least 25 more rooms to its facilities.
The former home of poet Lord Byron has gained a worldwide reputation since it was transformed into a luxury hotel and spa for tourists and businessmen visiting East Durham and Wearside.
Seaham Hall was bought by Tom and Jocelyn Maxfield in 1997, who pumped millions into refitting the buildings before they opened to guests in 2001.
