THOMPSON Insurance A, who first won the title in 2004/05 and were the runners-up last season, have repeated their earlier success by winning the Premier Division of the Veterans British Table Tennis League.

They won seven and drew three, of the 10 matches to finish on 17 points, some two points ahead of Potters Leisure Resort.

The team were Eddie Smith, who won 11 of his 14 matches, Dave Godbold, 12 out of 18, Geoff Salter, one out of two, Tony Gelder, one out of six, and the only non-local player Joe Kennedy (Essex), 15 out of 20.

Thompson Insurance B, who compete in Division Three (men), finished a very creditable third place on 11 points ...
