Youth League lays into Motlanthe after Malema censure.(News)

THE ANC's Youth League has launched an extraordinary attack on the party's second most important leader, Kgalema Motlanthe, slamming the ANC deputy president for publicly criticising league leader Julius Malema and even going further to claim that Motlanthe was usurping the role of ANC president Jacob Zuma.

The move lays bare tensions and divisions within the so-called Zuma camp, those that successfully opposed the re-election of President Thabo Mbeki as party leader. This comes on top of the ongoing tensions in many parts of the country between the old guard loyal to Mbeki and the new leadership.
