Aug. 31--ST. GEORGE, Utah -- With so many heroes to pick from, Central Washington University's football team was probably most grateful for the last one Saturday night. J.R. Hasty bolted 25 yards on the opening play of Central's first overtime possession, bringing a sudden end to a wild season debut with a 44-38 victory over upset-minded Dixie State College at Hansen Stadium. The Wildcats pushed ahead of resilient Dixie State four times before the pressure turned on them for a rally, and kicker Garrett Rolsma came through in a big way with a 44-yard field goal with no time left to force overtime.
