Haryana to award Rs 2 cr to future Olympic gold winner
Bhiwani, Aug 30 (PTI) -- In a huge boost to the country's sportspersons in the backdrop of India's unprecedented success in Beijing Games, the Haryana government today announced cash reward of Rs 2 crore to any future Olympic gold medallist from the state.
"I promise to award Rs 2 crore, Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh for the state athletes who win gold, silver and bronze respectively in the Commonwealth Games and 2012 London Olympics," Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today.
