ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL SLEEP FOUNDATION (2004), children in the United States and their parents are not getting enough sleep (see also National Center on Sleep Disorders Research, 2003). Researchers have indicated that sleep problems occur in 11-69% of children (Bruni et al., 1996; National Sleep Foundation; Pollock, 1994; Stein, Mendelsohn, Obermeyer, Amromin, & Benca, 2001; see also Mindell, 1993).
