The Labor Day weekend isn't stopping the Georgia Department of Transportation from continuing its project along the downtown connector. DOT officials said crews will get some major work done over the next few days. They also warned motorists Friday to expect major delays over the weekend. Interstate 85 will be reduced to two lanes and Interstate 75 will be reduced to one lane.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the construction project on I-85 by taking US 29 or State Route 54 in order to bypass the work zone. For those traveling into the Atlanta area; more than 140,000 people are expected to attend events over the Labor Day weekend in ...
