V.A.C. Therapy for Acute Wounds
Kinetic Concepts Inc recently announced the completion of a 2-phase clinical study of the safety and efficacy of V.A.C.[R] therapy for wound healing in Japan. The study compared V.A.C. therapy to standard moist wound therapy for the treatment of acute wounds, including open traumatic and postoperative wounds. Results showed that the median time to wound closure was significantly shorter for V.A.C. therapy (15 days) than for the control group (41 days).
