SCARBOROUGH'S annual Yacht Club North Sea Race is underway.
Twenty three boats set off at 7.30pm last night aided by brisk Westerly winds.
The start was signalled by a flare fired from the lifeboat, and the yachts set off under rain-filled skies.
The first of the boats is expected to make the 210-mile crossing to Ijmuiden on the Dutch coast in about 36 hours.
