Article: Amended plan for ex-Laughton home.

A NEW planning application from developers hoping to demolish the former Scalby home of one of the Laughton family and replace it with a block of 10 flats has been submitted.

Earlier this year Scalby residents were furious about a proposed development of 14 flats at the site in East Park Road, which was the home of Frank Laughton, brother of Charles and Tom.

Scarborough Council received more than 100 letters of objection to the scheme, which was proposed by KFB Scarborough Ltd. Ken Ferrie, the company's managing director, said the application was a revised plan. He said: "The application has taken the proposed development from 14 down to 10 flats."
