Microsoft Inc. is preparing for a really big show at E3 in Los Angeles and has every intention of going into the show with the Xbox 360 on the top of all of the sales reports. But the Xbox 360 has been facing some very tough sales competition from both the Nintendo Wii and from the Sony PlayStation 3.

So reports are that Microsoft intends to insure its "top of the sales chart" status by dropping the price of the Xbox 360 again by another $50. This would bring the 20GB unit down to $299, just about $50 more than the Wii. At the same time, the 40GB PlayStation 3 sells for $399.
