Thousands of tonnes of rubbish which currently goes to landfills will be recycled if a planned pilot scheme is successful.
At the moment all business waste collected by Babergh Council ends up in the ground, despite the fact a lot of it could be recycled.
Earlier this year a local pet shop owner complained to the Free Press that waste collection charges had risen, yet no business recycling facilities were available.
Now the council says it is looking to have a pilot scheme running by August.
Dick Cheshire, of Seedee Pets in Middleton Road, said he welcomed the move but had heard it all before.
