Survey Measures Employment Optimism Among Local Finance Executives

HOUSTON, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A net 3 percent of chief financial officers (CFOs) in the Houston area expect to add accounting and finance staff during the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the most recent Robert Half International Financial Hiring Index. Nine percent of executives surveyed plan to add staff during the quarter and 6 percent anticipate reductions in personnel. The majority of respondents, 83 percent, foresee no change in hiring.

The local results reflect a two-quarter rolling average based on interviews with 200 CFOs from a stratified random sample of companies in the Houston area ...
