Students from the Chat Ying Kuen Kung Fu Club picked up three medals in the Senior National Kung Fu Championships in Milton Keynes, two gold and one silver.
Abbey Hammond, from Glemsford, was the first to fight, in her second year in the tournament, winning her opening bout in the under-78kg group.
She lost her second bout, but came away with a silver, making it a good start to the day.
Sudbury's Jonny Moore made his debut in the competition in the under-68kg category, but put his obvious nerves to one side, surprising his team-mates with his jump kicks, evasions, blocks and parries, to pick up a gold.
