OAKLAND, CALIF. - The nightmare started before the ninth inning for Twins third baseman Brendan Harris.
He stranded six runners Saturday night, but Francisco Liriano had been superb, so the Twins led 2-1 with closer Joe Nathan on the mound and three outs from taking first place in the AL Central.
"I was sitting out there in the ninth going, `Well, I left a small village on base, but at least we can close it out with a win,'" Harris said.
