A CHARITY ball organ-ised by the family of a boy with a rare condition has raised [pounds sterling]17,000 to fund research to help find a cure.
Connor Wright (10), of Crowland, is one of just 20 people in the UK who have Shwachman-Diamond syn-drome, which stops his body fighting infection.
This means something as simple as a common cold could lead to a three-week stay in hospital.
Parents Amanda and Paul Wright and grandmother Susie Kilby organised a ball to raise awareness about the condition and funds to research a potential cure.
