Spalding Triathlon club members Mark Botteley and Michael Barnsdale both achieved their goal of a top ten finish in their age group in the ITU European Duathlon Championships in Edinburgh.
Botteley was seventh in the Vet 40-44 category and Barnsdale was eighth Vet 50-54 on Saturday.
After running a hard 10km, athletes had to tackle a very demanding and technical bike climb up Arthur's Seat (extinct volcano) four times in rain and strong winds, then finish off with another tough multi-terrain 5km run.
