GLENN Roeder has revealed he recommended Titus Bramble to England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson when the defender was at the peak of his powers.
Roeder - who was working for the Football Association last season - suggested the Newcatle United defender as a candidate for England's end-of-season tour to the United States.
But Bramble was overlooked, despite a rash of injuries to Eriksson's defence.
"I was at St James's Park for the final game of last season against Chelsea," said Roeder. "And I was so impressed with Titus that I recommended him for a place on the England trip to the USA.
"And because we had so many central defenders ...
