SANTIAGO, Chile, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Banco Santander Chile today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Banco Osorno (NYSE: BOU), creating a financial institution with total assets of $7.9 billion. As of today, Banco Osorno American Depository Receipts (ADRs) will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the name Banco Santander Chile (NYSE: BSB).

On June 10, 1996, Banco Santander Chile and Banco Osorno shareholders voted to approve the acquisition. The Chilean Superintendency of Banks today announced its approval of the acquisition.
