PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Baccarat Inc. is appealing a preliminary injunction granted last month, which orders the crystal supplier to resume shipping its merchandise to Ross-Simons, the second-largest tabletop retailer in the U.S. The appeal was filed in the U.S. First Circuit Court here.
The preliminary injunction was granted May 16 by senior District Judge Francis Boyle in the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island, pending a trial in the case.
The injunction stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Ross-Simons on Jan. 26, "alleging breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and tortious interference with contractual or advantageous business ...
