A VICIOUS dog with a history of attacks is to be destroyed after biting a pensioner.
Alison Young, the owner of Taz, a brown lurcher, was charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act after her pet bit 68-year-old Veronica Lawrence in the street.
Ms Lawrence was walking past Young's home in Gorse Ave-nue, South Shields, when the two-year-old dog escaped and sunk its teeth into her arm, clinging on as she desperately tried to shake it off.
Ms Lawrence, who lived a few doors away, needed hospital treatment including a tetanus injection and was left shocked.
