PIGEON fanciers are all a-flutter after getting their claws on a [pounds sterling]3,000 cash coup.
The Jarrow Alexander Homing Society has been awarded the money for the revamp of its base at allotments at Hill Park Estate, Jarrow.
The cash comes from the community chest of the Jarrow Neighbourhood Management Partnership.
Coun Paul Waggott, interim chairman of the partnership board and South Tyneside Council leader, said: "The Neighbourhood Partnership exists to help community groups in Jarrow have more of a say in their own affairs.
