THE new Shields Ferry - Spirit Of The Tyne - will enter regular service on Sunday for the first time.
Nexus is putting the [pounds sterling]1.9m ferry into service alongside its other ferry, Pride Of The Tyne, which will now sail in tandem with the new vessel.
Spirit Of The Tyne replaces the 30-year-old Shieldsman in full service on the Tyne, making regular daily crossings between North and South Shields and taking passengers up and down the river on afternoon river trips.
