TEENAGE kicks are guaranteed after a trio of young people received political recognition.
South Tyneside Council says the views of young people are integral to decision-making.
Now, one of the council's powerful scrutiny committees has appointed three teenagers as special advisers.
Coun Alex Donaldson, the new chairman of the Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee, said: "This is an important committee and there is a lot of work we want to get involved in over the coming year, so it is absolutely crucial we get the views of young people - and what better way than to appoint them as advisers?
