DISABLED people will enjoy better access to a Hebburn community drop-in facility after the launch of a [pounds sterling]2,000 improvement scheme.
Members of the Thirteen Avenues Residents' Association (Tara) plan to widen paths and install a ramp for disabled people.
Based at a former three-bedroom council house in Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, Tara provides a focus for community life. Building company Taylor Woodrow recently gave the disabled scheme a boost when they handed a [pounds sterling]500 cheque to Tara officials.
The firm is involved with Bryant Homes in a major private housing scheme in Hedgeley Road, just yards from the Tara house.
