SOUTH Tyneside is gearing up for one of the highlights of this year's Summer Festival.
The Mouth of the Tyne Festival, being held on both sides of the river tomorrow and Sunday, is set to attract thousands of visitors.
It will feature performances from artistes from around the world, showcasing a spectacular mix of international music, acrobats and walkabout characters to entertain the whole family.
Carnivals
The festival starts with colourful street carnivals on both sides of the river - from Gypsies Green along Sea Road and into Bents Park in South Shields, and on Front Street in Tynemouth.
