OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Sep 5, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- The Government of Canada has amended the Regulations Respecting the Election of Directors of the Canadian Wheat Board to repeal section 28, which set third-party spending limits. This regulatory change has removed the previous $10,000 spending restriction on advertising expenses in place for third-party intervenors.
This change will enable a broad debate and participation in Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) elections of Directors. Grain producers are encouraged to fully participate in the upcoming CWB election.
