A MULTI-MILLION pound residential development on the outskirts of Barnsley opened the way for an historic South Yorkshire firm to secure its future.
Umbrella frame producer Hoyland Fox, founded 150 years ago as part of Samuel Fox's steel and wire manufacturing business in Stocksbridge, has sold its Eckland Bridge Works near the village of Millhouse Green to CALA Homes
The deal has opened the way for Hoyland Fox, which employs 65 people and makes 2.5 million umbrella frames a year, to relocate to a new, 70,000 sq ft factory at Fields End Business Park in Goldthorpe.
