DETROIT -- Not everyone reacts the same way to indoor air quality problems.

That observation helps to illustrate the way IAQ has become more of a factor in our everyday lives, and how it differs from traditional industrial hygiene.

Frank Gallo, vice president for IAQ consulting services, LZA Technology, said part of this is attributed to what he calls "susceptible occupants."

His remarks opened a three-day IAQ conference in Detroit presented by the University of Illinois and IAQ International Ltd.
