Suspended ornithologist Mark Anderson says he has been made to feel like a criminal for his globally recognised efforts to safeguard South Africa's only breeding site for lesser flamingoes.
Last month, Anderson's long-time employer, the Northern Cape Department of Tourism, Environment and Nature Conservation, placed the specialist nature conservation scientist on "precautionary suspension" along with two of his senior colleagues.
