AT THE heart of Andy Murray's rapid rise to No 4 in the world and the brink of Grand Slam glory has been his willingness to meet the payroll of an entourage that would not shame Madonna.

But while his old coach, Brad Gilbert, enjoyed a salary of ?750,000 a year, paid for by the Lawn Tennis Association, the four men they call Team Murray have been assembled for about a third of that sum.
