Jul. 3--The town of Palm Beach might have Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago and rows of other stately manors hidden behind 12-foot ficus bushes, but the city of Boca Raton has more -- about $3.3 billion more.
In fact, Boca Raton has more valuable property any other municipality in Palm Beach County, according to the 1996 Preliminary Certification of Taxable Value figures from the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's office.
Those figures, which the county and cities will use to determine how much property-tax money they will have available this year, show that the business, homes, strip malls and office buildings in the city of Boca Raton hold more tax value than ...
