Jul. 3--A new downtown design studio has spun out on its own.
Red House Design, formerly an in-house design studio with Red House Recording Studio, 2500 W. 31st, now is in business independently.
"Anybody can crank out a design on the computer, but there's not always the thought behind it," said Susie Murphy, owner of Red House Design, 745 N.H. "What we want to do is cutting-edge, innovative design."
Aside from designing album art for bands such as Kansas City's Tenderloin, Murphy has created logo and stationery designs and promotional packaging.
Before starting on her own, Murphy worked for Admark advertising agency in Topeka.
