Sep. 8--Bob Schneider, the founder of the original Burger Ranch in Yakima who had multiple business interests in the region, died Saturday in a four-wheeler crash south of Rimrock Lake, authorities and a family representative said. He was 61.
Schneider, who lived outside of Cowiche, was scouting for a hunting trip when the accident happened Saturday afternoon off the south fork of Tieton Road, a Yakima County sheriff's official said.
The crash site was on a steep slope along a rough Jeep trail known as the Short and Dirty Ridge. Schneider was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol was not involved, deputies said.
