A new service to help people sort out their finances has been launched by A4e, the Sheffield group whose services span employment, education, enterprise and tackling social exclusion.

The MoneyFitness pilot programme will run in South Yorkshire, Staffordshire and London until mid-December and is designed to fill what is seen as a yawning gap for general financial information and guidance.

Project director Jon Trigg said: "For most of us, talking about our personal finances can be a very difficult subject, but making the right, informed decisions about what products are right for us and our families has never been so important.
