Powder on plastic: Australian firms attract worldwide attention with tow-temp, solvent-free coating.(NEWS)

Dulux Powder Coatings and Australia's Common wealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization have developed a solvent-free powder coating technology that can be applied to heat-sensitive plastics and cured at low temperatures.

The Customcoat QP technology is attracting world-wide interest, and has gained Dulux and the CSIRO the Premier's Sustainability Award in Victoria. Australia. The firms claim that the technology is the first of its kind--the result of more than a year's worth of research and development with the help of a $440,000 government grant.
