While it's not quite that bad, the rising cost of petroleum has not only driven gas prices over $4 a gallon, it has candle makers feeling the heat as well. Candle manufacturers say that the struggling economy is also putting the squeeze on more than the traditional petroleum-based candle products. Costs for eco-friendly alternatives such as those made of soy, beeswax or palm oil are rising almost as quickly.
