WHAT a difference a month makes - less than five weeks ago tiny Darianne Auty was left for dead by a hit-and-run driver.
But this week the battling five-year-old returned to Waterton J&I school for the first time since the horrific accident.
Darianne was with big sister Rose, 10, and mum Amber Musgreave, 31, when she stepped from the central reservation on Broadway in Lupset on Saturday, January 21.
As the five-year-old stepped out onto the road, she was hit by a car which then sped off.
The youngster suffered two fractures to her skull, a fractured eye socket, 25 stitches, bruised lungs, and needed a metal rod to pin her shattered leg ...
