RIVAL gangs of football hooligans staged a pitched battle in Wakefield City centre after organising the fight on the internet.
Shoppers ran for cover as the thugs clashed in the city centre, smashing windows during the disturbance on Smythe Street.
Some of the hooligans were armed with weapons when the fight broke out at about 3pm on Saturday, March 24.
Police said the incident involved two factions from Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town and that they have been told the violent meeting was arranged over the internet.
And on Tuesday morning, officers arrested 13 men during a series of dawn raids.
