A NEW exhibition uniting mining communities across the world is being staged in Wakefield.
United by Coal, at The National Coal Mining Musuem, was opened by MP Mary Creagh on Friday.
She said: "Coal mining expertise has been shared by miners across the world since the industry began, and this exhibition provides a fascinating insight into some of these connections. Here in Wakefield we have close links with the coalmining town of Castrop-Rauxel, in the Ruhr Valley in Germany.
