INTRODUCTION
In recent years, much has been said of the continually rising costs of health care. The health care insurance decision by employees is becoming important as costs have shifted increasingly toward them. Also, the number of different insurance plans has been rapidly proliferating as employers scramble to contain escalating payroll benefit costs. This makes the employee's choice of plan more difficult.
In 1950, 49% of the population was responsible for its own health care costs, while private insurers accounted for only 29% of those expenses. By 1960, the percentage of people responsible for their own health care costs had dropped to 29%, with ...
