The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved the 20-year Electric Power Purchase Agreement (EPPA) between Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc. (BENECO) and TeaM Energy Corporation which provides cheaper rates to the power utility s customers.
The regulatory body said the application for the EPPA by the parties was "approved with modification" and subject to conditions set by the ERC. The cooperation period was from 2003, based on filings then made by Mirant Philippines (formerly the equity holder of the shares bought by TeaM Energy, a joint venture between Tokyo Electric and Marubeni Corporation).
