ARLINGTON, Va., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Better Business Bureau (BBB) system has voted to permit BBBs the option of charging consumers a fee for enhanced inquiry and complaint services.

The fee-for-service resolution that was approved in a system-wide referendum will permit Better Business Bureaus to charge only for "value-added" inquiry or complaint services. Those BBBs electing to charge a fee will have to offer consumers a "satisfaction guaranteed" policy, participate in ongoing surveys to measure and ensure full customer satisfaction, and provide some reasonable alternate means of free access to BBB information and services.
