Ethyl acetate is an important downstream product of acetic acid. It is also an important green organic solvent. It is mainly used as active solvent in coatings (paints and enamels), inks and adhesives and also as process solvent in the production of pharmaceuticals and in organic chemical synthesis. As ethyl acetate is a natural compound existing in many fruits, it has extensive applications in the food industry such as the use as flavoring agent and process extracting agent.
