Comments are being sought on two new sets of competencies that are designed to strengthen the public health work force, both in the United States and around the world.
On a national scale, the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice is seeking comments on its revised Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. First adopted by the council six years ago, the competencies outline the skills and knowledge that health professionals need to carry out and improve the practice of public health, such as communication, program planning and leadership.
