ST. LOUIS, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Twain Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTWN) announced today that it has reached an agreement with First City Bancshares, Incorporated, the owner of First City National Bank, in Springfield, Missouri, for the merger of First City Bancshares, Incorporated into a Mark Twain subsidiary.
The joint announcement was made by Peter F. Benoist, executive vice president of Mark Twain Bancshares, Inc. and president of Mark Twain Banking Division, and John B. Mahaffey, chairman of the board of First City Bancshares, Incorporated. First City National Bank, with $90 million in assets, operates from four locations in Springfield.
