HOLLAND - Surprises were plentiful at this week's selectmen's meeting.
In an unexpected move and strange twist, selectmen voted Wednesday night to appoint Raymond P. Korny, of 70 Allen Hill Road, to a vacancy on the Planning Board until the 2009 election. At that time Mr. Korny can seek to retain his seat by running for the position in the annual election.
At the Aug. 27 meeting, two-and-a-half months after this year's election, selectmen appointed Richard A. Polverari to fill an opening on the Planning Board, also only until 2009 election. He is one of two candidates who received 68 votes for a 5-year term on the ...
