SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 1996--In a continuing effort to offer customer convenience, Wells Fargo Bank and Thrifty PayLess Inc. today jointly announced that they have signed a letter of intent to launch a pilot program in which Thrifty PayLess stores would occupy space inside five of the bank's branches in California.

In the pilot, Thrifty PayLess will occupy 3,000 to 10,000 square feet inside five existing Wells Fargo branches. The stores will include a pharmacy and carry basic drug store items like health and beauty aids and over-the-counter medicines.
